How to input a Renault Scenic Radio Code

I have a renault scenic 1998. I have the radio code, but am not sure how to input it. Does any one have any ideas?

Turn set on nd hopefully 0000 will appear with the first 0 flashing.

Use the rotating adjuster on the back of the steering wheels radio controls to get to the correct number.
Tap the button on the underside of the radio steering controls to change to the next digit.
Repeat above to input all 4 numbers.
Then with them all entered and the last digit flashing instead of tapping the underside button hold it for 5 secs to enter the code.
