V W Golf

I have a V W Golf that is just over a year old. Yesterday, the radio came on without anyone being in the car and then half way through the night, it came on again along with the alarm. Any ideas apart from christening it Herbie!!!

Seat Ibiza's (2001 on) had that problem - they rectified my mates - don't know what they did, but pretty certain it needed a new radio

there is currantly a recall on golfs fitted with rcd 300 head units and from what youve described the recall updates the programmeing on your radio to prevent this fault if u take it into your dealer it should be able to advise u if this is an outstanding recall on your golf

2001 ibiza runs a copleatly different media system to vw's the problem was rectified on those with a replacement head unit but there system had no means to update the sofware
