T reg. Citroen Xsara 1.4 tickover

The engine has a minimum speed of 2300rpm. A local dealer has not corrected whatever fault exists, even after changing the ECU. Can someone suggest what other controls affect the tickover speed, and whether the cure may be a feasible home job, please?

Wouldn't have thought it was the ECU anyway mate. Try the Xsara owner's club - I use that for my banger!


Could be Idle control sensor, or any other manner of sensors - surprised main dealer can't figure this out - should be a simple case of plug and play on their diagnostic systems
