Does anybody have any experience of Benelli's?

There are some terrific deals at the mo on the TRE, the green and white one, but no one I know has any experience of them.

Should, of course, be Benellis.
I assume you are talking about a Tornado. As with all Italian Motorcycles, they have what is affectionately known as "character" that means they break down a lot. Generally they are good bikes when they are working but are not as good as the equivalent Jap bikes and they are much more expensive. They do of course have that indefinable Italian quality, a certain feeling of slight exclusivity and of course the looks are great. But if we use our heads the japs win every time. (I'm and R1 man)
I have never ridden a Tre, but from what I have read they have a great engine, with the usual triples advantages of the torque of a twin plus the top the top end of a four, but the handling is not up to the standards of the best of the competetion. Personally I think the TNT looks fantastic and would be my Benelli of choice.

Currently a GSXR1000 but I fancy something a bit different and am swaying towards the Italians: would love an F4, I think they are stunning looking, but the price tag scares the crapola out of me.

Right, test ride it is then!

I'll report the results.

What about an Aprilia RSV1000R? Its Italian, a bit 'different', a cracking ride, more reliable and less tempramental than a Ducati, and a about half the price of the F4, (which is a very disapointing bike to ride anyway.)
