I was out driving in my Citroen Saxo 1.4 (P reg) over the weekend when the temperature gauge light came on. I pulled over & switched my fan onto full power & it started making a really loud noise from underneath the engine (very technical - NOT!). Also it was going from cold to boiling hot & the light kept coming on & off. Help.....does anyone know what could be wrong?

check that the radiator is not leaking and follow the cooling pipes from the radiator and check them aswell. if these are ok check the coolant to see if it has got any oil in it, if it has im sorry but the engine is knackered. also check all fuses while your there.
hope this helps
