Tom Tom Problems
3 Answers
My tom Tom Sat nav works well the majority of the time, but there are two annoying things about it which I hope someone can tell me how to address.
1) Often, when I type in a postcode I want to travel to, Tom Tom plots the route telling me it is the "fastest route." This is not always true. I suspected it may be wrong sometimes, and so I tested it on routes I know. Several times Tom Tom has given me a route taking me on a far more circuitous route than I usually would take.
2) On a couple of occasions, Tom Tom has told me to turn right at a junction where there is a "No Right Turn" sign.
Is there anything I can do about this? Is there any kind of "update" I can download? Also, the journey times it gives are often wildly inaccurate. How does it calculate how often a journey will take?
Cheers.

It is these average speeds that Tom Tom uses to calculate the fastest route. If the average speed for a motorway is set at 70mph and a B road at 30mph then Tom Tom will send you down the motorway even if this doubles the distance
