Exspensive service!

I bought a Nissan Micra 2 years ago and it's due for it's second service this month.
I contacted Crossroads where I bought the car and they have told me that I can only get a service with them as it would otherwise null my warranty (of 3 years) and want to charge me 280 for it!
I wasn't expecting it to cost that much!
My question is...
Is the garage right in what they say or can I go elsewhere and look for a cheaper quote?
I have to admit I'm a bit clueless when it comes to cars so sorry if this is a silly question but I was kind of expecting half this price.
Thanks in advance :)

as far as i know, as long as the place you go to uses only Nissan parts (not copies) then the warranty should still be valid.
Its certainly correct with other makes.
Call Nissan customer service and check.
I second redcrx, the garage are taking the mick. You can have the car serviced at any garage that has the facilities to complete a Nissan service, and they must use genuine parts.
Don't forget to get your service Book stamped.!!
Above answers are nearly correct but in addition the garages must be VAT registered.
