My new job comes with a company car as I will be driving round the country. Does anyone know how much more tax I will pay? (eg: 24k salary with a 1.6 Astra)
Also, my Dad mentioned it will be less if I travel over 18k miles per year, is this still the case?
Help....I dont want my lovely (and hard earned) payrise going to the thieving taxman!!!

There's a calculator here which will work out the figures for you. (I just tried it out, using a bit of guesswork regarding the exact model you'll be supoplied with. The figure I obtained was 559 p.a.):

at a 24k salary id expect better than a astra 1.6, as for losing out to the taxman- try maintaining, insuring, purchasing, business fuelling your car if you opted out- see how far your monthly allowance will go- vitually nowhere
