hi,my son 17 years old got pulled for no insurance and no l plates and its bin almost 4 months now,but still not heard anything,i wanted to know what is the dead line till they can actually do you? thanks

Yes. Six months from the date of the offence.
Yeah but if he gave a false address or whatever they might have touble finding him and then process the offence in his absence?? Anybody know the procedure in this case?
I wouldnt like your chances of argueing with the dvla if its more than 6 months, they will still apply it to his license, i dont believe there is a set time limit.
This type of offence isn't the worst he could have gotten in regards to insurance. Its classed as an IN10 and there are many companies that dont add a big load to premiums for this conviction.
If he has provided false details as qapmoc said, they will process the conviction anyway and then more than likely increase the fine and the person may have criminal proceedings brought against them.
Oh, if he was an un-supervised provisional holder then he will also get an lc10 or lc20 (driving without correct licence) which would take his points to a minimum of 6 and result in a loss of licence
