fuel filter

My astra is fine when driving slowly, but when I accelerate hard, it's very jerky and rough. Could it just be a dirty fuel filter? And if I'm changing it do I need to de-pressurise the fuel system first?

Probably not the fuel filter, Give more details of which Astra you have.

Hi Toureman. Its a 1999 2.0 16v (X20XEV engine) 100.000miles. Any help appreciated.
