I've had yet another run in with Renault! When it comes to customer service they have to be amongst the worst! I bought a brand new Grande Espace from them last year, and today the clock has been replaced. It kept gaining time and it was driving me nuts. They've replaced the clock but managed to get hold of a faulty one, and as the speed/distance/time is all driven by the same device, when it gets its new clock next week, the mileage will be set back to 0. The countdown to next service will also be wrong. Renault say that this isn't a problem and it won't be a problem when I come to resell the vehicle (next year hopefully) but I think that this will put a potential buyer off. What do you think?

to be on the safe side you would need something in written proof from your reno dealership (no verbal assurances)- because otherwise any future purchaser will possibly be suspcious and have to rely on your word alone
It doesnt matter what Renault say, if a prospective buyer is looking at your car and several others from Autotrader etc they are going to be put off by the mileage change.
hi there. i have just spoke to my husband regarding your query as he sells new renaults. he tells me that if on the day you get new clock fitted you have say 5000 miles ( for easy counting ) on the clock, then this MUST get recorded in your service book along with the date the clock was changed on and you will also get a copy receipt for warranty purposes. on the day you sell your car you will probably be asked if it is correct milage and you will have to provide the documents to show this, ie: service book and receipt of warranty job repair. so basically if you have all the documents i mentioned you should have no bother selling the car privately and if you trade it in then the garage will notify the national mileage register. we are sorry to hear of the service you have recieved from renault service department.
