the heater under my glovebox is making a churning and clicking noise, every few seconds

is it safe?

the temp gauge is always normal, and the people who had it beforse me knew and drove for years with this

could it just need adjusting to stop the noise? or is it broken and needs replacing?

thanks

i imagine its the big fan in tube making the noise, maybe called a blower, they sometimes get leaves and stones sucked into them and therefore make noise as the blades turn around, or perhaps the blades are rubbing the sides, if you have the ability id suggest dismantling it and having a look, with any ive worked with, the top or bottom will be removable letting you see inside.
