Car Stereo/CD
I want to surprise my boyfriend by getting him a new car stereo and speakers - he has a Rover 200 and it still has it's original tape cassette/radio. I just wanted a bit of advice on where to go to get it done.
I've been on the Halfords website because I know that they'll fit it for me, but after having a browse on a few other websites they actually seem quite expensive. Problem is I don't understand any of the terminology they use in the item description so I can't tell whether I'd be getting a good deal or not. Can anyone advise on whether they're a rip off or charging extra for a good service?
If they are a rip off, can anyone recommend anywhere in the north London area (Barnet/Finchley or nearby) that sells and fits stereos and speakers that won't see a clueless woman from a mile off and charge me extra?!!
Thank you!

Check the "output per channel" - you don't really want anything less than 10 watt (w) per channel. As the car will already have speakers why not just fit the CD for the moment and tell him you will let HIM choose some new speakers. There are so many types etc that personally ( no offense intended ) I wouldn't want a non-technical person choosing them for me.
