The dual mass flywheel is basically a vibration damper so it could cause shaking if worn out. Depending on how the DMF is failing it can also cause loss of power due to the clutch slipping. There is a sensor ring on the back of the DMF that is used by the engine management system as a pick up. If this is moving (again it depends on how the flywheel is failing) this could cause a misfire. This last one is unlikely but possible.
