Trying to sell my car but with no luck yet, any advice?
Well it'skind of my mum's car but I use it as a runabout too. Anyway we want to sell it for 1,700 ono. Its a Ford ka, S regestration and has 39,000 miles on the clock.
We have put adverts in the car window, and on a notice board at the local supermarket, also an advert in exchange and mart.
There have been some enquiries and one test drive but it's weakness seems to be that it does not have power steering. Should we reduce the price a lot? my dad is not keen for a quick sale he would rather get a good price, i mean i think its in very good condition inside and out so maybe down to 1,500?!

Forget you own pre conceived ideas of what it is worth and do some pragmatic reasearch. I think when morrello says don't drop it too much because it looks suspicious he means doun't drop it too much below what it's worth, not your initial starting price of 1700. A good example version of your car is 1350 on parkers, I made a couple of assumtions so do your own, but that's a guide, so 1700 is over the top, QED, it's not selling, drop it to 1300 and it'll go.
Auto trader is full of cars from "stubborn sods" that don't sell because they have a completely unrealistic view of the value of their car, auto trader love it because they don't sell cars they sell advertising. Anyway for 3k+ you should be able to get a very good small car. The honda Jazz or the Toyota yaris would both be excellent and you should be able to get a good one with all the toys for your budget.
