I recently bought a mk 3 Mondeo which only has one key fob (its the one with 3 buttons).I want to get another key as a spare and can probably get one on ebay.I know that the key has to be programmed to the car ,can this be done outside of getting Fords to do it ?,whats the procedure if i only have the one key .

Be careful!!!!

I have the same type of key for my Laguna, these are still being sold on ebay.

Renault have new procedures for programming new keys because of criminal activity. the renault keys bought on ebay cannot be programmed to work. only genuine keys bought through renault can be programmed to the car.

It might be ok with your Ford but ask the Ford dealer first, just trying to stop you being ripped off. Be careful.
