My son was driving my car and had an accident, we had to claim and the car was a write off. Will this claim put both my sons insurance for his own car and my own when I get a new car and if so by how much? Before the accident he had 3 years no claims and I had 4.

it may do, my car was broken into and even though it wasnt my fault my insurance went up
I would think that if the claim was made on your insurance it will put your premium up ( unlees you have a protected no claims bonus ). If it was, his premium will probably go up anyway as he would have to inform his Ins. company at the next renewal he had an accident.
How much it will put up your ins.premium is up to the company.
depending on the amount of cash paid out,you could lose 20/30% of your no claims bonus,so he could lose all of his and you 3yrs,but check with the companies.
