Windscreen wipers

Could anyone advise me please, I had some new wipers fitted front an back and the bill was �46 there was 3 different amounts for brushes, could someone kindly tell me what these are in connection with wipers.

What car were they for and do you mean brushes or bushes?

Brushes are small carbon blocks that provide the spark that drives the motors and these do need renewing so you should be OK for some time

You really need to get back to them and ask what the bill is for- they won't have replaced any brushes in the wiper motors, certainly not for �46......!!

is it one of those cars with an elaborate wiper arm mechanism, like a Merc?? Maybe they replaced some bushes in the arm, perhaps?

Thanks for answers I have a Peugeot 106 and the bill is for parts used brush and three amounts for each one but all different prices, �7.59 �5.69 �6.24 I will photocopy the bill and ask them has anyone had wipers fitted and had these added the wipers I had were solid the ones they have put on look cheap and thin, and seems a lot for wipers.

That sounds like main dealer prices for wiper blades plus some labour for fitting in which case �46 is a reasonable price, and a good incentive for going down the local spares shop and fitting them yourself........about 10 minutes work!!
