Citroen xantia alarm/fuse box?

My daughters boyfriend has just bought a Citroen Xantia 1.9 LX diesel , 1996 . After driving it around for a few days he noticed the heater was not working properly so he took the fuse out and checked it .On replacing it he cannot now open the door without the alarm going off.
Has anyone had a similar experience?Thank you.
