Road Tax question,
I have just bought a car with no road tax, with it being the end of the month, If i bought 12 months tax right now, it run out on the 31st of december, thereby losing a month.
A friend told me that the DVLA will give a couple of days 'lee-way' for people in my situation, and in fact the tax wouldnt run out until jan 31st '08.
Can anybody confirm if this is right or wrong?
I can wait until thursday to get on the road, its just this is my first car and the wait is killing me!

I would just go out and get it.
It is illegal to have a car on the road (even parked outside your house) without vaild tax. This even applies if a car you have just bought and are simply driving home. Cal me simpl but i think there are too many illegal drivers on the road. Chances are there will also be no mot or insurance. Come to think of it. it also invaildates your insurance.
