i have recently noticed a whining coming from my engine when it is cold. when it heats up a bit it stops, is this the cambelt or could in be the alternator, secondly when my engine heats up it sounds like the exhast blows a bit doest it need tightening will this damage the car if its not fixed,

astra SRI 1.8 - 2000 (x reg) high milage 119000 miles cambelt last changed at 80000 miles.
