Sony Radio losing memory in Corsa?!

Ive just bought a new Sony Cd player for my car and fitted it myself as i already had a removable CD player, it works fine but when i switch the car off and take the key out it loses all its memory, Ive checked the connections and they seem ok, does anybody know whats happening?

There will be two power wires. One live all the time and one live when the ignition is on (this usually powers the CD player) the one that's on all the time is used to keep station presets and clock and other settings. Make sure that the one that's live all the time IS live all the time.
As almcd007 said, there are two wires to the radio one permanent and one that's live when you switch the ignition on. You've got them the wrong way round by the sounds of it. Either that or the permanent one is not live all the time as almcd007 says
