I have a personalised plate on my current car, and this car is being part exchanged for a new vehicle. I am not sure if I want to continue displaying my plate, so was considering storing it (i.e. not on the new vehicle) - does anyone know if there is a charge for doing this, or any relevant info?

Thanks a lot.

A V778/1 retention certificate will cost you 105.

See here for confirmation of that figure, then follow the 'Click here' link for details of how to get the form:

it costs 105 to put your plate on retention, but that figure includes a transfer fee of 80,so when you want to put it back on a vehicle thats already paid for,if you keep it on retention for a year,it costs another 25 to keep it for a further year and so on.,all the info you need without a link.
