But the sales man was trying to sell me a product called Autoglym (or a bundle of products) telling me it would prolong the life of my car etc etc....
has anyone had any experience with it? is it any good? they were trying to sell em the whole set for 200......i declined and have found it on Ebay for like 50.....
hi eyebrows - not sure about prices i usually shop around - sometimes asda etc have sales on these products - autoglym have some rally fab products, i have used them for yonks - buy and try - i think you will be chuffed !
Mr Hellyon swears by Autoglym it is a really good range of product, not cheap but I would think 200 is a bit over the top. Keeping your car well waxed does genuinely prolong the life of your car, as it protects it from rusting. We have a 32 year old Triumph Stag and Mr H won't use anything else on it and it looks as good as new.
You can buy it in Halfords and Mr Hellyon usually asks Father Christmas for some!
It's a leading brand of car polish, they sponsor classic car concours exhibitions although most of those competitors probably use carnauba wax which is a brute to use but probably gives the best finish.
There's one called Mer which is pretty good because you can use it without waiting for the car to be completely dry http://www.merproducts.com/
As for prolonging the life of the car that sounds a tall tale most of the attack from rust comes from unpainted surfaces and waxoyl's likely to be a much better investment but then modern cars are much more rust resistant than they were 20 years ago
well tahts for that advice, but i have already arranged a service agreement for the 5 years.......its costs me about 190 a year......(15 a month) but its piece of mind also.....
