Hi Mate,
Forget the stupid answers, you can fix it however you need a lot of patience,
1) on the boot lid there is a plastic cover over the lock, slide this off,
2) unclip the carpet on the boot lid, just enough to be able to locate the locking system,
3) un plug the electrics to the lock on the left hand side of the locking system,
4) un screw the 2 x 10mm nuts and pull the lock down,
5) remove the cable on the locking system (pull it down from the locating slot and the wire comes out)
your lock is now completely removed,
there is a plastic cover that is clipped on with several hard to get to clips, you only need to unclip 2 of these and the rest of the plastic will pop off,
with a torch look into the locking system and you will see a spring with one end floating around,
the end that is not attached goes onto the actual locking system, if you use your finger and push the mechanism as if you were locking it (only approx half way) you will see on the mechanism (the part that turns around the bar in the boot) there is a raised bit of plastic that the end of the spring sits over, this is quite a slow and boring job, but it will work perfectly after, once this is done, simply follow the above instructions in reverse to put your boot back together,
I have literally just finished doing mine, it takes approx 2hours but saves you a fortune
Good luck
Tom
