I put a car into mothballs 3 years ago and i have just tried to start it up and to my horror i have been unable to start it due to the petrol tank being contaminated by a brown sludge liqiud in the bottom after the petrol must have evaporated. This brown sludge has travelled all thro the injectors and all pipes which had fuel in them.It has set hard and i just cant find anything to emulsify the mess.Any one had this problem if so what did you have to do.Thanks .

It sounds like you will have to remove everything that is contaminated and replace it or clean it , you could try brake fluid as this used to be used for cleaning carb's back in the day
