selling a car with no mot or tax

I'm trying to sell my car but the guy who wants to buy it to do it up is proposing to drive it away although it does not have tax or mot, if he is stopped who is liable ?

I would like to say that he is, but I'm guessing until the DVLA get the transfer of ownership paperwork that you will be.

Hopefully someone will know for definate!
as the driver he is liable for driving it with no MOT and tax regardless of who owns it.

Make sure you get a receipt so you can't get done for allowing somebody to drive your car without insurance.
A receipt with the date AND time on it.
He is, as above just make sure you have a signature with a date and time on the receipt and the send off slip. I'd also get him to sign something saying you have told him about no tax/mot date and time on that too.
do as above and when you send your slip in send it recorded delivery.

I think I'll be selling to no one unless they take the car away on appropriate transport
He is.if he decides to drive illeagaly.get him to sign reciept time and date it when he took charge and ownership of the car.
