hi when my car sits taking over for a while(like at the car wash etc) when i go to take off it leaves a blue smoke it has been parked up for a while iv been told its probaly water lying in the exhaust anybody got any ideas

If it's blue smoke it's burning oil, You will not have water in the exhaust pipe unless the engine is cold, as you have driven to the car wash and the engine has been ticking over all the time the engine will still be hot.

Hi, if its doing it after ticking over for a while or on powering up after over run ie going down hill pedal off throttle then as you accelerate away you get puff of blue smoke its generally valve seals,piston rings tend to do all time, white smoke (steam ) normally only for short while is just condensation, for every gallon of petrol used more than a gallon of moisture is produce and goes through exhaust
