i got pulled by police today about having no mot on my scooter. i had no idea it was out of test as i had totally forgot all about it. the scooter was parked on private property so the police had no power to remove it. they told me to take it straight to the garage and get it booked in for a test. i did just that and it passed. my question is will it go any further? will they throw the book at me? not sure where i stand as the scooter was not seen on the road as it was parked up at the time

If you had done what they requested (Which you have) I do not think you will hear anymore about it.
I don't see that you have committed any offence.
You were not found using the vehicle on the Highway, it was on private property, it is legal to drive to an MOT station for a test. It has now passed.
buildersmate, it is only legal to drive to a PRE-BOOKED MOT station, you can't just say that you were going to the MOT station and thats the end of it, you must provide eveidence that you had been booked into said MOT station and you were on a direct route to there.

You say you got "pulled", how do you mean, as most people say pulled as in they got pulled while driving/riding, and they only have the power to do so on public property. You say that the bike was parked on private property, but was it at the time of being pulled? If it was on private property, then they have no reason whatsoever to charge you for no MOT.Could you please give more details of what exactly happened?
I was parked when police informed me MOT had expired they have the info logged in their systems. Got MOT next day with no further repercussions from police.

Result: the police knock (where I work) so's I have time to remove my ill-parked car......think they're bored with booking me? Aint that sweet!

thanks for your answer hacKage,i will tell you more about it.I was shopping at the time. it was parked on a retail park right outside the shop so police didnt see me ride it. they came looking for me in the shop, apparently someone rang the police as it was in their way. they told me to move it and they did a check on the bike, which is when they found out i had no mot. because i was parked on the path its classed as private land
Think u want to learn how to park and stop being stupid.
