Having moved house I sent my licence to the DVLA to be updated. It's been returned but still shows points from over three years ago for a speeding offence. I thought they would have been taken off automatically - can I request this? Thanks.

You state that the speeding offence was 'over three years ago' but it's not clear whether it was over four years ago.

Points only count for totting up purposes for 3 years.but the endorsements remain on your licence for 4 years (for most driving offences) or for 11 years (for some serious offences):

It was 29 July 05, an SP 30. Thanks to you both for the clarification.
