faulty speedometer

I have recently been done for speeding after driving 30 years without getting a ticket. Just bought a Citroen C3 and I was wondering whether anyone out there has been getting a faulty speedometer reading in their C3s.

Picked up a ticket some years ago in my C3. I know I was doing 45 in a 40 zone but photo evidence said 49! (I had the speed warning beep set to 40 so knew I'd accelerated too fast and immediately slowed up but not quick enough for the hidden hand-held.
