peugeot 406 cutting out

peugeot 406, 1998 plate keeps cutting out, can go for several days and be fine and then all of a sudden cuts out on first starting and also when braking, slowing down or changing gear. have changed the spark plugs so its not them. any ideas?

As you open the bonnet in front of you will be the Inlet Manifold, tucked under the manifold there is a Elec connecting plug try to un-do & reconnect this plug, I replaced an engine on my sons car & the tick over was not right this was the cause.

Hi did you ever find the cure for this as my 406 is doing exactly the same and its doing my head in and dangerous, i have tried all things to fix it myself , but i just cant get to the bottom of it can you help. if you can i will give youa free canvas print from any of your photos as a thanks.
