Stuttering engine.
My car starts and idles fine. If I push the accelerator down slowly and smoothly the engine revs increase as normal. If I push the accelerator down more quickly and repeatedly, the engine stutters, a kind of `airy` sound like it might stall. There is plenty of petrol in the car. Any ideas what is wrong? Thanks.

You will need to strip down the carb and clean out the blockage from the accelerator pump. If you remove the air cleaner from the carb intake you will see the accelerator spray tube in the top of the venturie. When you open the throttle quickley this should spray extra fuel into the top of the carb if it does not then you have a blockage or the pump unit has failed.
