Cars have the Indication they have Road Tax by displaying the disk in the N/S Front of their windscreen, surely this could be sorted in an easy way by the same issued by the Insurance Companies in cohesion with the DVLA that the ALL car's ARE INDEEDED insured by displaying the same disk in the same area of the screen!! would this work?

I guess that would mean the car is insured.. but who is ther person driving it? Do they have a license? Is it clean? etc etc.. They do something like this in Spain.. not sure how it works though

It would only work if you paid the whole year up front. Or you could get your disc and cancel the insurance.
The system of displaying the disc is legl residue. They know by your number whether you are taxed/insured/ MOT'd. The display bit is superfluous most f the time. Nice Idea, about 20 years ago would have been a belter.
I think TWR was thinking along the lines of a separate disc which could confirm that the vehicle was insured by the registered keeper. Information re insurance provider etc could be encoded into a bar code or microchip. It would then be upto police to check insurance of actual driver if not driven by registered keeper.
ANPR has overtaken this old fashioned paper idea
