vauxhall corsa N reg

My corsa RANDOMLY cuts out between 40 and 60 miles on occasional journeys. i wait five minutes and it will start again. Any ideas as to the fault and how to fix it.

Is it cold when you are travelling? i.e. winter months? I had a Fiat that did the same & it was down to a box that let in air to the engine. A valve opened & closed  that regulated the temperature & it used to stick open making the engine freeze & cut out. Waiting a few minutes used to warm it up enough to start it going again.

It's a long shot as it could be any one of a dozen things.
