Why would there be a canadian car in france?

It didn't look anything special as if it were a vintage car that the owner wouldn't be able to get in France, which they cherished and didn't want to leave behind, so why would they have had it shipped over to France?

I only saw the back number plate which was green with orange writing or vice versa plus it had a canadian flag on it!

It isn't actually a canadian car but a car used by the canadian embassy in France. It was orange letters on green background.
