Roughly how much would a scrap metal dealer give me for taking away my car? Thanks.

Now scrap prices have gone up and you can get something back for scrapping a car.
I scrapped an Escort a couple of years or so back and got thirty quid.
A hundred sounds pretty good if you can get it maybe prices have risen more than I thought

i work in steel therefore know how much a dealer and a scrapmerchant would give you and its a lot of a difference.
if you get someone to collect you'll get £100 maximum.
if you drive/tow it to a recycling centre like "EMR" and place it on the weighbridge your more likely to get around £270 per tonne. M reg escort has got to be close to a tonne in weight but they do take £5 off per wheel as they have to dispose of the tyre correctly.
I weighed a mk2 golf in about 3 years ago at EMR and got about £140 minus tyres...
so you're best off if you can get it there as you'll get more than double.
