i-Shift or CVT?
Why is the i-Shift transmission of the newer Honda Jazz considered to be superior to the CVT system of the older Jazz models ?

Everyone in the know knows about inherent wear and poor performance/ control with CVT boxes. They are trouble in the end .. and damned expensive to repair or replace (Ford has a lot of problems with the CVT) Avoid CVT like the plague.

The problem with CVT's it appears to me .. is that everything .. all components have to be made really small to be compact as a whole .. Therefore they break easily. The main bearings in a Ford CVT are as shall as a rear Fiesta wheel bearing. They break often .. There are only complete replacements .. and hardly any spares. Rebuilds specialist job .. and time consuming.
