Iv been pulled today for having no car insurance, i explained that the policy was in my name but the payments got taken from my ex's account but id paid her the full amount owed wen we split up, he done a check and turned out she had cancelled it in august, he said id get 6 points and a fine, but iv only been passed my test a year so id lose my lcence, but he then advised me to go to court as i needed my license for work (home care assistant) and my daughters dad lives 200 mile away so i take her to him every other wkend, he said the judge may only give me 5 points and the fine so i can keep my license, as it was done withouit my knowledge altho i take full responsibilite for leaving it in her hands, what do you think will happen?

I also had some trouble following this post, gender-wise.
If only i were that simplez *(sic) Lucy.
Likewise...
they may have been in a same sex relationship
You don't say!

Yes i am in a same sex relationship, but dont see how its relevant to my question?
Fair enough. I appreciate that English isn't your first language, so can you please explain again what you're asking..?

If i go to court and explain that she had canceled my insurance without me knowing, will they just give me 5 points and the fine instead of the 6 so i keep my license?
Highly unlikely.

"Ignorance is no excuse before the law" was, perhaps, never more apposite...
no relevance what so ever
but I think you should appeal for clemency and explain that your ex cancelled it out of spite and without your knowledge . but ensure you are now insured and how dependant your patients are on you and your vehicle. best of luck.

Oh well keeping my fingers crossed, dont know when i have to attend court, and yes i have insured my car now, so i can still drive until i go to court. Thanks
Go to court and get a solicitor to make an eloquent plea of mitigation on your behalf. It could turn out to be a good investment.
Yes indeed. Whatever you do, don't even think of representing yourself...
Question Author
Well if i do end up with the 6 points, i really cant blame anybody but my self really, just i thought i could trust her. Will just have to wait and see now, its out of my hands
All joking aside, if the circumstances are as you describe them, then I think there is a great case for leniency. I repeat my earlier advice, invest in a solicitor with the power of the gob.
Wow!!

Lets hope so, and thanks for taking pity on me mike and giving me helpful advise.

Tinkie i dont understand why you just put wow?
because of no car insurance, dear God it gets worse, spelling was even abysmal
I was trying to get my head around the gender bit Mike.
