Registration Error

Sent my V5 off ages ago to change my address. They sent it back with the correct address but I noticed a couple of weeks ago they have managed to mis-spell my surname, replacing an I with an E (I was only changing address, no other details). Could I get in trouble in anyway for the error or can I just leave it as it is?

If you read section 5 of your certificate it says "If any details are wrong enter correction in section eight and return certificate toDVLA"

I think that is explicit so you cannot just leave it as it is!

The police use the DVLA to trace drivers from their number plates so you might get in trouble if they ask for your address, or, you might get off on a speeding ticket.

to be fair i can't see what a spelling error could do with your name spelt incorrectly as i painted a car a few years ago, changed the colour, sent the log book off and DVLA told me to pick a colour on their chart that the car fell into on a letter back to me. I then rang them up and told them the car didn't fit into any colour catogary and they told me to send the V5 back with the car as WHITE, which the car wasn't it was pearl and went many different colours so there wasn't actually a colour but none of the colours were on the chart, but thats what DVLA told me
