From what I have heard and read these are basically very good, if rather dull cars. They are well built and well equipped, like most modern Toyotas, but the basic versions are all rather slow, the 1.6 version has a BHP figure of 110, with torque to match. This gives an unimpressive 0-60 time of 10 seconds. The diesels are very good, as is the T-Sport version. To sum up, they are inofensive, but unexiteing transport, that will never let you down.
I've never heard a bad word about Toyotas in general but you may find that a 1.6 may just be a wee bit underpowered.  OK as long as you don't want to pull a caravan any great distance.

cheers chaps,

I agree that it may not be the most impressive drive!! However, I am looking more for reliability, value for money and refinement.............! I just test drove this car and the smoothness and quietness within the cabin was amazining. Hardly any roadnoise whatsoever.

If you compare the price of a vw golf with the same specs it wopuld set you back 3-5 g more. Ill try my luck with the toyota!!
