My Corsa 1.4 Standard aotomatic has a snoflake button which you can activate.do you keep it on when driving or only to get grip to start off.Also I heard someone say on radio you should turn off ABS in slippery conditions.I dont know how to do this.

Thankfully a lot of old school have grown up now.
I used to run BDA Escort Mk2's.
I used to race Mini Coopers, on a track of course.
Minis are great fun in the snow.

respect... Lovely car and the BDA is up there amongst the best engines ever made IMO, nearly infinity tuneable and so much fun in a MK1 or MK2 (though you do need wipers on the side windows :))
My road car was a flat front RS1800 clone that I built up from ex police panda car. .. 5-sp, Anti-dive, anti-tramp, 4 link, etc. with LSD. Interesting on road. On hot road surface, it used to lift tarmac turning around : )
