Car tax question

Posted this originally in the "law" section so thought i'd give it a go in here.

Bought a second hand car around 10th september this year which was untaxed.

Got 6 months tax for it at the local post office where i bought the car and thought nothing of it.

That tax should've been back dated to 31st August which i had no problem with and by my estimation, should run out on 28th Feb 2011.

Just checked the tax and it runs out on 31st May 2011...a full 3 months later than it should !!!!

The tax has all the correct info on and was purchased legitimately....any suggestions ?

I would wait and see if the reminder comes in February or May and just take it from there.
