Idiot on the motorway
6 Answers
Last night about 10pm I was overtaking on a 2-lane stretch of Motorway when a car began tailgating me at 73 mph with his headlights on full beam. I moved to the inside lane as soon as it was safe to do so (indicating in good time) and the car behind shot past me doing at least 90 and then slammed his brakes on. I was far enough behind to brake and get a good distance between us and then he slammed his brakes on again and for the next half-mile the 3 cars (the one in front, me and the car I had overtaken) were doing no more than 35 mph with the car that had overtook me having his fog lights on as well - it wasn't foggy. There was no way that I was going to overtake this idiot again (no knowing what he was liable to do) so I let him leave at the next exit 2 miles away and continued safely. His number plate was mud-obscured, although the rest of the car seemed remarkably clean. Do you think I should have reported the incident or would that leave me open to reprisals from the idiot?
