how long have the police got to summons you for a fixed penalty offence if you opt for a court hearing. my licence was returned unendorsed but i have not received a smmons the offence was 6 months ago

you are one lucky person. after 6 months the offence becomes statue barred, this means that the police or courts can no longer do anything about it. howevre if your summens got lost in the post and you are supposed to be at court, they wont be happy. if i were you i would contact them after the 6 monts and see what they say. that was they cannot get you if they have just fogotten.
