i was going round a mini roundabout and a van pulled out on my right and before i saw it my left wing smashed into it am i in the wrong

If you were on a mini roundabout and something pulled out on your right, you were probably going the wrong way round it. That is unless you actually pulled onto the roundabout and were hit by a van coming from your right, in which case you were in the wrong because the van would have had right of way.

However, I have to join Ethel in wondering how something coming from your right managed to get in the way of your left wing.

Also, 'before you saw it' ??!!?? Shouldn't you have been aware of its presence in the first place?
