I recognise that they're 'performing', rather than just 'singing and playing', but is there some rule which states they're not permitted to look like they're actually enjoying what they're doing?

Have they ever been smiley?
That's just their image, though.

Plus, they're currently doing The Caterpillar.

Also, they're absolutely brilliant!
Imagine having to play guitar, sing and smile all at the same time ;) they look quite happy now.

Well Robert Smith just did a little jig and half-smiled but the other members of the band look about as cheerful as Indian cricket fans to me!

Been watching them for last hour or so, not a great fan but it has to be said they're good, if not smiley.
Backing musicians usually concentrate on what they’re doing, rather than play to the crowd. This is brilliant
Robert Smith has always been a famously shy performer - but it doesn't detract from the enjoyment for the fans of the band.
And now they're doing Close to Me! Bliss :-)

Anything's an improvement on Kanye West! (Ruddy 'eck, can that really have been four years ago?)
Robert Smith looks very happy with that ovation.

Richly deserved imo.
Love The Cure...

Aagh!

Mike Skinner singing and crowd-surfing at the same time! (I can't help wondering whether that had the sound engineers panicking about the range of his radio mike).

'Dry Your Eyes' is one of those songs which really, really, really irritate me!!!
Why, Buenchico?

^^^ It's just one of those 'nails scraping down the blackboard' things for me, Clover.

It rates alongside Joe Dolce's 'Shaddap You Face' and Axel F's 'Crazy Frog' for me. (You can add other songs, such as 'Deck of Cards' and 'Amazing Grace' to that list, along with some classical music, such as Vaughan Williams' 'The Lark Ascending' - I recognise that it's technically brilliant but I simply can't stand it!)
Talking about music and concerts, it seems that The Stones did pretty good with 70,000 fans attending in a field north of Toronto, Ontario.
Oh, Dry Your Eyes is beautiful.
Joe Dolce’s offering is terrible, of course.
Who would spend their hard-earned or -saved 99p on that?
Once again I've really enjopyed Glastonbury- I'm not keen on some such as Kylie or Jant Jackson but it's a good chance to hear fairly recent stuff you don't hear much on the radio now liek Foals, proper musicians like The Killers, Liam Gallagher, Johnny Marr, current good stuff ike billy Eilish and of course Stormzy- and classic stuff I'd forgotten liek Chemical Brothers- loved Hey Boy Hey Girl
It's not liek I can't spell 'LIKE'- my keyboard letters work at different speeds and some keys don't register sometimes now. Annoying
