I've always found She's Gone, by Black Sabbath, very sad. I suppose in those days, before anyone knew that Ozzy is a softy, it seemed an unusual lyric for him.
Tigger

Bright Eyes was one of the songs I chose for my Mum's funeral. She loved it and it made her cry and she always had very bright eyes :o(. She died two years ago this week.
And Salla,

It has to be Willy Nelson 'Always on My Mind' for my funeral. I love it. Also love it by Elvis, but Willy's version has the edge.
Sorry to hear that Lotty. We had None Shall Sleep Tonight by Deanna Durbin for my Mum's funeral. It's the only version of Nessun Dorme I know of in English , but she loved it.
philtaz Chris Rea is a good one.
As the curtains went round Mum Sir Alec I had chosen Bing Crosby "I'll be Seeing You". I had managed to hold myself together until then.
I would choose a Bing Crosby number for my Dad, as he is a keen fan. He won't discuss things like that, as Mum did. I would also choose The Anniversary Song by Al Jolson for him as it was the first tune Mum and Dad danced to on their wedding day.
I'm having Lovely Day by Bill Withers at my funeral. It makes me think of sunny days and love. As the coffin is drawn away, it's always the worst part for people, so I'm going to have the theme tune to Captain Pugwash played at that moment, to make them laugh!
That's lovely SirAlec. I chose lots of my Mum's favourite music for her funeral and also a poem she wrote. Not a religious lady, so no hymns, but it was very spiritual. Loads of loads of springs flowers all over her coffin - she loved spring flowers!
Captain Pugwash, ha, ha.

I am tempted to have "I Want to Break Free" by Queen for myself!!
