Been meaning to post this question for a while.. But why is it Phil Collins gets alot of criticism?

because it's namby-pamby nothing music, and his voice is not at all interesting.. in my opinion :o)

All down to tastes i guess but his record sales would say otherwise!
Im a fan of both his solo work and that with Genesis.
He got a lot of bad press when he was going through (one of his many!) divorces when it was purported in the press that he filed for divorce via a fax machine. This apparently never actually happened but a lot of people (as they do) believed what they read in the papers! Maybe thats a reason?

I don't read papers and am not interested in his private life.. I just think his music is very dull.

but I appreciate someone must like him. I assume they're quite old and dull ;o)

Personally I don't mind some of his slower stuff

Can't stand the man or his music...dull, dull dull. He recently issued a Motown covers album....he murdered them.

his son is a drummer & was in a band with my son; they used to practise in Collins house till he pulled the rug & made the wife sell up. She moved to Canada with her kids.
