Do we have to do 20 of each?! ;)

Some of my most favourite songs.... Let me think.....

Janis Joplin - Piece of my Heart
The Who - Behind Blue Eyes
Nirvana - Come As You Are
Damien Rice - Blower's Daughter
Foo Fighters - Aurora, Next Year, well you know I could be on this one all night!
Joni Mitchell - Both Sides Now
The Beatles - Come Together, Across the Universe, Something
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Biffy Clyro - Machines
S+G - America

That's a very small selection.. I love too many songs too much!! :D

It's almost impossible, isn't it!
It really is!! There are so many but they are all swirling in my head now in one giant jumble!! I'll think about albums and tell you tomorrow.. haha :)
Tempted... but I don't want to start as I'll be up all bloody night thinking about it.
Queens' Sheer heart attack is amongst the top ten favourites of all time. however the list is always question to debate for me... so really difficult to answer... as for singles it'll take all year to chose a particular song.

some good ones in the lists though.
I've never been into albums, per se. I tend to like one track from one artist and another track from a completely different artist. My list only got as far as the following!
1. Dire Straits - Brother In Arms
2. Dire Straits - On Every Street
3. Fiesta Macarena - Los del Rio
(I tend to buy things like world music samplers, which don't really qualify as 'proper' albums)

I did slightly better with some songs (but I've probably omitted lots of stuff which I really like, simply because music isn't that important in my life, so I don't really remember all of the tracks that I like):
1. Beatles - Here Comes the Sun
2. Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters - Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive
3. Los del Rio - Macarena
4. Reinhard Mey - Kleiner Kamerad
5. Jacques Brel - Amsterdam
6. Bellowhead - New York Girls
7. Nortec Collective - Tengo le Voz
8. The Mamas and the Papas - Monday, Monday
9. The Tractors - Baby Likes To Rock It
10 (Surely this one deserved a place in your list, Mark?) Capercaillie - M'Ionam
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_F39ziI2_o
song: comfortably numb / pink floyd
album: wish you were here / same

i do like other music, but it's far too early in the morning to exercise my brain! queen, led zep, madonna, pet shop boys (slightly odd), deep purple, ac dc, iron maiden, foo fighters, nirvana, oasis (early stuff) x
This is just a fraction of my music collection.

Alfie Boe - he ain't heavy
Poison - Every Rose has ..
Sandi Thom - I wish I was a punk rocker.
Neil Sedaka - the Miracle Song
Rolf - Two little boys
Aretha Franklin – I never loved a man the way…
Billy Joel – Piano man
Bob Dylan – Blowin’ in the wind
Bob Dylan – Just like a woman
The Eagles – Desperado
Ry Cooder – Jesse James
Ry Cooder – How can a poor man stand such times
Ellen Foley – we belong to the night
Topol – If I were a rich man
Gaberlunzie– Hercules the bear
Lynden David Hall – Abraham Martin and John

Not sure which of the above were actually singles - Alfie Boe's song was an upload onto You Tube.

Elvis, Meat Loaf, Queen etc I like and Rod Stewart is actually an okay singe.

> This is just a fraction of my music collection.

So what's your answer...?
Question Author
And I like your description of Rod Stewart as a monkey... ;-)
Those listed are the songs that my addled brain noticed on my computer.

Rod Stewart has a powerful voice but I am not really a fan.

Willie Nelson and Ray Charles are good to listen to as well.

I saw a You Tube clip of the Hayseed Dixies earlier today on a post - they were good too.

Jingle Cats singing Silent Night is interesting and most of Eric Bogle's songs.
Couple of singles that immediately spring to mind:

Sitting on the Dock of the Bay - Otis Reading
I'm not in Love - 10cc

And without doubt, the best album ever:

Graceland - Paul Simon
Prefab Sprout - Cars & Girls
The Jam - A Town called Malice
Black Label Society - Spoke In The Wheel

Album - Squeeze - Singles 45s and under
My favorite album of all time, that has lasted since 1967, is by a group called Love and the album is Forever Changes.

This has long been hailed as a "forgotten classic" though if you read the reviews on places like Amazon you realise how many people still love it.

For some reason everything came "right" on this album, but their albums before and after were not so great. In fact the group as it was broke up after this album. The leader Arthur Lee died a couple of year ago.

Most of the songs from it are on you tube.

Here a few tracks from it merged into a single YouTube video

Caro Emerald - Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor

Nerina Pallot - Dear Frustrated Superstar

Art Pepper - One September Afternoon (the best jazz recording EVER ... better even than Miles Davis's A Kind Of Blue)

Black Eyed Peas - The END

Can I ask why you choose Physical Graffiti over II or IV? Not a criticism or objection, just that I never thought it stood against the 2 earlier albums.
